Bebee Lake tree ID walk
Welcome to campus class of 2025!!
We have prepared a short tree/plant scavenger hunt for you.
Here’s how it works. Between the canoe racks and the stone footbridge, there are 8 manilla cards tied to trees and plants along the gravel path. Each card has the name of one of Cornell’s undergraduate colleges on it (Hotel, Engineering ILR etc…). Below is a list of eight different types of trees with photos. Match the card to the type of tree, then take the quiz to see if you got them right!
Bebee Lake walking directions:
From the canoe racks go east along the lakeshore over a short wooden footbridge. the path will diverege but they rejoin quite quickly. You’ll come to some steps and a four way intersection. Straight will take you on a short spur to a water fall. Go right and across the stone bridge. Take another right and go down the wooden steps and follow the path back along the lake until you are spit out on forest home drive. cross the big footbridge by the welcome center to complete the loop.
